Introduction to project
The primary justification is to make the link between two different communication protocols to perform data transfer between them through a gateway process to an automated system.
Automation is an important branch in electronic engineering, and that its significance goes beyond the simple machining processes since it provides mechanisms to assist human operators in the work and to streamline the production process which is applied.
Automation is wider than a control system, includes industrial instrumentation, monitoring systems, transmission and gathering of data and software applications in real time to monitor and control operations from a remote system installed on a computer.
Context
This research will focus on the conversion of Modbus TCP Profibus DP protocol using a PLC as a gateway and an inverter in open loop as a final drive with SCADA support
It explores in depth the communication protocols and Modbus TCP Profibus DP to allow the transfer of data between two points by a gateway that will be the role of the PLC interface to allow the two protocols at all levels of communication.
All connections will be monitored by a SCADA system created in a program called National Instrument LabVIEW. It is a programmable graphical interface for all types of industrial process. DSC module was used (Datalogging and Supervisory Control) LabVIEW is a graphical development environment with additional functions for setting alarms, and events, historical data logging, management of shared variables, networking and deployment of applications . We can simulate the configuration of the drives through this package contains security packages and processes by creating a secure interface, which is important for users.
